One of the best ways to use your Chamber membership is to be involved. We have numerous opportunities — both short- and long-term — to help your business get noticed. Depending on your profession, business and personal interest, choose the one that’s right for you. If your schedule does not allow you to make a long-term commitment to one or more of our committees, you might be interested in volunteering for one of our special events. Take a few moments to learn about any of our committees or other volunteer opportunities.

In addition to our standing committees, the Chamber also has three other groups that meet regularly:

The Budget & Finance Committee develops, monitors and controls the Chamber’s budget, expenses and revenue. It is chaired by the Treasurer of the board, Laura Coome, South Dakota CPA Society.
Staff Coordinator: Joan Bartling

The Issues Management Council is comprised of the chairs of each of the Chamber’s committees and several at-large members. This council is responsible for crafting positions on issues to be approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Events such as candidate forums and the Inside Washington series are sponsored by IMC. This council is chaired by Terrance Nemec, Nemec & Associates.

The Staff/Personnel Committee focuses on internal Chamber operations. This committee is chaired by Lon Clemensen, Children's Care Hospital & School.
