Chamber Engages in National Childcare Solutions Conversation

Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeff Griffin recently attended the Early Childhood and Business Advisory Council: All-States Convening, held Dec. 8–10 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The conference brought together state and local business leaders and early childhood stakeholders from across the country to explore strategies for expanding access to high-quality, affordable childcare—an issue with direct implications for workforce participation and economic growth.

The event was jointly hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Bipartisan Policy Center and the Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska. South Dakota participants also included representatives from Elevate Rapid City and the South Dakota Association for the Education of Young Children.

“We are committed to this long term effort in bringing national best practices to South Dakota, ” Griffin said. “Aligning the needs with funding and solutions to help businesses and families is a tall order. We are fortunate to be included.”
