Severson receives 2023 Spirit of DeWald Award
The Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce has named Keith Severson as the 2023 recipient of its annual Spirit of DeWald Award. Severson was presented with the award at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
The Spirit of DeWald Award recognizes an individual who has achieved professional distinction and made significant community service contributions both locally and statewide. To be considered, a person must be a Chamber member, assist the Chamber in reaching its goals, be involved in other community, professional or charitable organizations; and present a positive attitude and professional image on behalf of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce.
Severson’s involvement with the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce is extensive. He served on the Board of Directors from 2009-2015, and was Chair of the Board in 2013-14. He played an important role in past Forward Sioux Falls campaigns and has served on multiple Chamber committees and councils. He is also a graduate of Leadership Sioux Falls class 6.
In the broader Sioux Falls community, Severson has been an active volunteer for decades. His past involvement includes chairing the Dakota Bowl, serving on the Board of Ethics for the City of Sioux Falls, and helping Startup Sioux Falls transition to their new downtown facility.
Severson retired in 2020 from a career at Eide Bailly LLP, where he was a Partner. Far from “stepping back,” he continues to share his astute financial skills and personal leadership with many organizations in Sioux Falls.
Congratulations to Keith Severson!
