Stride Bank may be relatively new to Sioux Falls, but it brings with it over a century of innovation, resilience, and a bold commitment to the future of financial services. Headquartered in Enid, Oklahoma, with offices expanding into South Dakota, Stride Bank has evolved from a single-branch community bank into a $4 billion-asset institution serving millions of customers across the country.

Founded in 1913 as Central National Bank of Enid, Stride Bank has remained independently operated for over 110 years. In that time, it has become known for its entrepreneurial spirit and forward-thinking leadership under the direction of a team that helped steer the institution through the economic headwinds of the 1980s Oklahoma oil crisis and into a new era of digital-first banking.

In 2019, Central National Bank rebranded to Stride Bank to better reflect its national partnerships, growing fintech presence, and modern capabilities. That same year, the bank launched its now-signature partnership with Chime, the largest neobank in the USA. Since then, Stride has gone on to build sophisticated payments solutions for prominent brands such as Lyft, Affirm, Stash, and others.

What makes Stride Bank unique is its dual identity: deeply rooted in community banking values while operating at the cutting edge of financial technology. Unlike many traditional banks, Stride built its own payments infrastructure in-house, developed a best-in-class compliance program, and positioned itself to serve as a trusted sponsor bank for fintech companies. As a result, Stride is one of the top Visa issuers in the country.

While its fintech presence is impressive, Stride has not lost sight of its community bank origins. The bank continues to offer a full suite of consumer, commercial, mortgage, and wealth management services with a focus on bringing a personalized, relationship-driven approach to every client interaction.

Stride’s Sioux Falls team is also dedicated to building community partnerships and supporting local economic development.

The bank’s leadership has long believed that sustainable growth isn’t achieved by chasing the latest trends, but by investing in infrastructure, relationships, and long-term thinking. That mindset is paying off. In recent years, Stride has created hundreds of jobs, expanded its footprint across multiple states, and become a premiere national partner in the fintech and payments ecosystem.
