Young Professionals Week 2025: A Celebration of Connection, Growth & Community

Our inaugural Young Professionals (YP) Week was everything we hoped it would be—energizing, inspiring, and full of connection. From getting to know our city better to simply enjoying good company and great conversations, the week highlighted what it means to be a young professional in Sioux Falls: driven, community-minded, and ready to make a difference.
With four unique events and more than 200 attendees, YP Week created space for learning, laughter, and meaningful connections across our network. Whether you were brand new to YPN or a longtime member, there was something for everyone.
Here is a look back at the moments that made the week so special:
Kicking Things Off at Startup Sioux Falls
We launched the week with a panel of community leaders who know firsthand the power of YPN. Alissa Matt (USD), Dan Doyle (Lloyd Companies) and Jeff Griffin (Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce) each shared personal stories about how YPN helped shape their careers and connections in Sioux Falls.
To top it off, Mayor Paul TenHaken officially proclaimed the week as Young Professionals Week in Sioux Falls—an exciting moment of recognition for the impact our generation is making.
Bags & BBQ at Reliabank
On Tuesday, we headed to Reliabank for a night of bags, BBQ, and beverages. It was a beautiful evening to enjoy time outdoors, unwind with peers and make new friends in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Special thanks to Reliabank for sponsoring this fun night!

Downtown Scavenger Hunt
Wednesday brought adventure, teamwork and a little friendly competition. Participants formed teams and hit the streets for a Downtown Scavenger Hunt, visiting 12 participating businesses and learning more about the hidden gems that make our city special. It was a great reminder that there is always more to discover—right in our own backyard.
Sweet 16 Birthday Bash at Wiley’s
We wrapped up the week with a celebration: YPN’s Sweet 16 Birthday Bash, hosted at Wiley’s and sponsored by First PREMIER Bank. There was food, drinks, plenty of networking and some incredible door prizes donated by generous local businesses. It was the perfect way to reflect on how far we have come—and get excited about what is ahead.
More Than Just a Week
YP Week was not just about showing up—it was about showing what’s possible when young professionals come together to support each other, build community and grow. Whether you joined us for one event or all four, we are so glad you were part of it.
Thank you to our speakers, sponsors, volunteers and attendees who made YP Week a success. The connections made this week will last far beyond it—and we cannot wait to see what is next.
