The DSS invites the public to listening sessions on childcare
The Department of Social Services (DSS) is planning several opportunities for child care providers, community members, and families to give their input on how one-time funding for South Dakota’s child care system is spent.
Listening sessions will be held for child care providers and the general public in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, and Rapid City. Virtual sessions will also be available for those who are unable to attend in person.
Child Care Provider & Advocate Listening Sessions
These sessions are intended to have a focused conversation with the individuals who help operate the state’s child care system and learn about provider-specific needs. The target audience includes individuals from child care service providers, representatives from child care and early education associations, and state legislators.
General Public Listening Sessions
These sessions are designed for a much broader audience to learn about community experiences regarding current resources and needs and hear thoughts on what a better child care system could look like. The target audience includes any community member with a vested interest in child care (e.g., parents, caregivers).
DDS would like to invite you to register to join the child care community and advocates at one of the following listening sessions.
