Using Your Membership: Turn Your Expertise into Influence

Business Sense articles give you a platform to share practical knowledge, build credibility and help other businesses succeed.

Every day, you solve problems, improve processes and help your organization navigate an ever-changing business environment. Along the way, you may gain knowledge and experience that could benefit other businesses throughout the greater Sioux Falls region.

Last month, Chamber News highlighted Business Sense Workshops as one way to share your expertise in person. Sharing your expertise through a Business Sense article offers another way to reach fellow business leaders.

Business Sense articles are published in Chamber News, the Chamber’s primary way of reaching members. The magazine is direct mailed to 4,500 Chamber members and distributed on racks throughout Sioux Falls. This unique opportunity allows you to share what you know with a targeted audience of business leaders, decision-makers and community partners.

These articles are designed to provide practical information for business leaders through how-to guidance, tips and best practices, industry insights or solutions to common challenges. They also offer a way to position yourself and your organization as a trusted resource on topics that matter to the business community.

The most effective Business Sense articles don’t promote products or services. Instead, they help readers solve a problem, understand a process or learn something they can apply within their own organizations. Whether your expertise is in agriculture, marketing, human resources, technology, finance, safety or another area, chances are you’ve learned lessons that others could benefit from.

You don’t need to be a professional writer to contribute. What matters most is having practical expertise worth sharing and an idea that can help fellow Chamber members.

If you have an idea for a Business Sense article, we’d love to hear from you. You may also submit an idea for a Business Sense Workshop if you would prefer to present your topic in person. Visit siouxfallschamber.com/business-sense to submit your idea.
